Packaging & Instruction

Microman 2004 came in beautifully done removable blister card style packaging. The backing card had very nice picture of the toy with all the accessories on display in the blister window. As a nice touch, the blister had the "O" design (in MICROMAN logo) molded on. While the cylinder tube 2003 series was nice and compact, the new blister was definitely more attractive looking.

Microman New Stand

Microman 2004 came with new style figure stand. The stand features Microman "Da Vinci" style logo emboss on clear plastic with two styles of pegs  - one for the newer Microman figures and one for the vintage figures with 5mm port.

Microman MF2-01 Skymaster Hayate was the first member and leader of the Master Force series. Hayate was the flight expert of the team. (Master Force theme followed the four method of travel - air, underground, water and surface). Hayate shared the same new Microman core body with the other figures in the series (The same body debuted with last year Micro Force and Tatsunoko Fight! Microman 2003 line). He had dark clear blue body with black paint highlight which was a very nice combination.  His body was mostly clear dark blue (A lot like blue on the old M103).  Hayate had the typical anime "young hero" head design (reminiscence to that of the recent Microman Arthur).  Hayate had white triangle symbol on his chest. (I am not sure what it suppose to represent may be a nod to Microman Command 1?)

Skymaster Hayate armor was a flight jacket with positional wings called "Sky Rambler" with beautiful chrome finished. The flight gear design of course was a homage to the old vintage Microman Kit Machine toy of the same name -Microman Zone Kit Machine Sky Rambler. The armor also had clear windshield, and the front chest armor even had the same hexagon design as the old Sky Rambler jacket. Beside the flight pack, Hayate also came with leg wing snap on part similar to Command Microman. This was the only part that had the tendency to fall off easily while playing with Skymaster other wise his flight armor was quite secure. Beside the wing, Hayate also came with arm snap on weapon that appeared to be a homage to the Magne Power Microman. The snap on weapon can be removed and together with the leg wings, it formed a mechanical bird called "Micro Eagle". The bird had its own computer and came completed with IC chip and navigational system. Beside acting as arm weapon, the bird also served another purpose, by attaching the bird to the back of the armor and pull the wing out from the peg, the wings can spin like a propeller. The wings also had two positions it can form normal wing that resemble the old Sky Rambler wing or it can split and form "X" shape propeller wings. The wings also removable and became sky diving board for Hayate.

Micro Eagle

Microman Skymaster was probably the best looking of the four Microman Master Force figures. He had very nice color scheme of black and blue.  His armor was superbly design with beautiful chrome finished that not only function well but also pay a nice homage to one of the earliest Microman toy - the Sky Rambler. His armor also had nice clear windshield that can be open or close and his position-able wing that also served as sky board was a great design that blend well with the figure overall theme. His armor and wings fit well over the figure body and were very secure (actually they were hard to remove once you assemble his armor). The only parts that seem to fall off easily was the snap on leg wing sections.
