RX-178 GUNDAM Mk.-II (TITANS Version)

Gundam FIX #0012 came in the now familiar FIX white window box with Gundam Mk-II lettering in yellow.  Gundam's spec was also printed on the window with a design sketch of Mk-II added to the banner.  This two new package design elements were incorporated with the released of  #0010 Nu Gundam.

EFSF (TITANS DIVISION) MODEL # RMS-154 CODENAME : BARZAM ARMAMENT:60mmVULCAN POD SYSTEM, BEAM SABER X 2, HYPER BAZOOKA, AND BEAM RIFLE WITH GRENADE LAUNCHER

RX-178 GUNDAM Mk.-II was the 12th figure in the FIX Figuration Series and the first Gundam design to come from the "Z Gundam" series.  This was the TITANS version of the Mk.-II and was painted in their trademark dark blue color.  There were three separate versions released by Bandai with three distinctive markings to represent the three prototypes fielded by EFSF TITANS Division - Units 01, 02 and 03.  Each Gundam Mk.-II came with the usual large assortments of accessories commonly associated with the FIX line - two beam sabers, hyper bazooka, beam rifle with extra cartridge and optional grenade launcher attachment, removable Vulcan cannon pod, and shield.  However, what made this version of Gundam Mk.-II special was the optional removable armor set that transformed the FIX Gundam Mk-II into its derivative - the RMS-154 Barzam.  The transformation was seamless and yielded a very decent looking "Refined Version" of RMS-154 Barzam from Gundam Sentinel.   This was essentially two figures in one  much like the previously released FIX #0010 GP04G and a very clever combination considered the subject matter since Barzam was a mass produced mobile suit based on Gundam Mk.-II.

RX-178 Gundam Mk.-II were the prototype all purpose Gundams constructed by TITANS division (an oppressive anti-terrorist unit arms of EFSF).  rx-178 were based on the original gundam rx-78-2 but the Mk.-II pioneered the new "movable frame" technology which allowed for lighter and easier to repair mobile suit.  AEUG (Anti-Earth Union Group), a rebel group opposed to the oppressive TITANS division, led by Char Aznable (former Zeon's Ace pilot) captured all three (units 01, 02 & 03) of RX-178 Gundam Mk.-II prototypes.  However, Unit 01 and Unit 02 were heavily damaged and were shipped to Anaheim Electronics on Lunar Base (AEUG sympathizer) for research.  Unit 03 was given to AEUG new recruit camille biden who help aeug during the raid.  during the war, EFSF INTRODUCED rms-154 barzam as THE new all-purpose / low cost mobile suit to replace the aging rgm-79 gm IIS.  barzam was based loosely on the design of gundam MK-II BUT WITH NO REMARKABLE DISTINCTION THE BARZAM ONLY SAW LIMITED PRODUCTION AND NEVER FULLY REPLACED THE GM ii as originally intended.  this particular version of barzam was the refined version from gundam sentinel
