LED Powers Exclusive

Limited Editions

Takara continued with more exclusives and limited edition toys for the LED series.

Takara planned to release the mysterious Beetle Troopers as part of the LED Powers line up but the figures were delayed several times and eventually were canceled.  The prototypes were shown at the toy show at around the same time Takara was introducing the Master Microman series.  Some had speculated that these were re-tooled of Transformers Beast Wars but that could not be confirmed. From the picture below these figures were relatively big as you can see Microman LED Laser Arthur ridding on one. They appeared to be about the same size as basic size Transformers toys. (The figures seem to be tooled so they can hold up Microman figure via 5mm connector seat).

Bom Bom Comic

Takara heavily advertised Microman Magne and LED series in Bom Bom Comic. By the time of the LED series, the only Microman tie-in media was comic published in Bom Bom comic magazine.

Matt Doughty did a custom version of Beetle Trooper but I can not confirm which figure he used as the basis for this custom job.

(To see more of Matt's customs please check out Micro Showcase Matt Doughty).

The only "official" picture of Beetle Trooper released by Takara was in advertisement section of Bom Bom comic (Jan. 2002). The picture depicted the Beetle Trooper sliced the Laser Acroyer into two halves (and thus formed the Acro-Jekyll & Acro-Hyde).
